Senegal: Report highlights challenges of return migration

(Dakar, Senegal, 30 April, 2024) - The Mixed Migration Centre (MMC) with the support of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in West Africa (OHCHR-WARO), through its PROMIS migrant rights protection project, published an online report, entitled "Multiple and intersecting harms: Examining use of force in return and its detrimental impact on migrants’ human rights during and after return to Senegal".

INTRODUCTION :

We, the Ministers in charge of child protection in the Project to Support the Protection of Children Victims of Violation of their Rights (PAPEV) beneficiary countries (Gambia , Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger and Senegal) supported by ECOWAS, Italian Agency of Development Cooperation and OHCHR-WARO ;

COVID-19 and social and economic rights of migrants in Mali : Analysis of 4Mi data collected in Mali between July 2020 and January 2021

The Mixed Migration Centre produced this 4Mi data analysis with the financial and technical support of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). The analysis is part of a broader OHCHR project focusing on the socio-economic impacts of migrants’ human rights in Niger in the context of COVID-19, under the auspices of OHCHR’s Surge Initiative and its objective to develop disaggregated data and evidence to inform legal, policy, planning and programming at the country level.
